About the Role
As a Corporate Accountant at Grand & Toy, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding our financial integrity and supporting informed business decisions. You’ll own core areas of accounting related to cash, statutory taxes, and fixed assets, while helping improve the systems and processes that keep our finance function running smoothly.
You will work closely with Finance, Operations, Payroll, and our US parent company to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash & Treasury – Own cash accounting, weekly/monthly bank reconciliations, and reporting to our US parent Treasury team (including borrowing base certificates).
- Cash Forecasting – Build and maintain weekly cash flow forecasts, budgets, and key cash metrics.
- Tax Compliance – Prepare and file Sales, Environmental/Recycling (EHF), and Property tax returns, support audits, and provide schedules for corporate tax filings.
- Global Sourcing & Imports – Oversee customs, tax, and payment processes for imports with Inventory Planners and the Global Sourcing Organization.
- PCard Program – Administer the PCard program, review transactions for compliance, and ensure accurate general ledger posting.
- Fixed Assets & Capital – Maintain the fixed asset subledger, run depreciation, reconcile accounts, and track capital project spend versus budget.
- Controls & Audit – Prepare key journal entries and reconciliations, and support SOX testing and internal/external audits.
- Systems & Process Improvement – Drive enhancements to financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, automation, and controls.
Who You Are
- Accounting & Controls Expert – Strong experience in corporate or public accounting with hands‑on ownership of general ledger, reconciliations and cash accounting.
- Technically Strong – Solid understanding of GAAP, fixed asset accounting, and statutory tax reporting (Sales, Environmental/Recycling, Property).
- Detail‑Oriented & Organized – Comfortable managing high‑volume transactions and tight deadlines with accuracy and strong documentation.
- Analytical Problem‑Solver – Able to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions.
- Systems‑Savvy – Proficient with ERP/financial systems and Excel; interested in using technology to improve processes.
- Collaborative Partner – Builds effective relationships across Finance, Operations, Payroll, IT, and external partners; communicates clearly with financial and non‑financial stakeholders.
- Continuous Improver – Proactively looks for ways to streamline, standardize, and strengthen financial processes and controls.
Bonus points for:
- CPA designation (or in progress).
- Experience with SOX and audit support.
- Experience with imports, customs, or PCard administration.

- Competitive Base Salary – based on experience, with a hiring range of $65,000 to $75,000, and growth potential within the full pay range for this position of $58,300 to $96,200 per year.
