The Graduate Sales Trainee (GST) will participate in a 12-month internship program.The internship program is considered a stepping stone into the world of sales, customers and business.  The T&M program includes intensive training in the selling process including sales support functions, customer acquisition and relationship building skills.

 

Primary Responsibility:
  • Learn and proficiently contribute to Grand & Toy’s (G&T) Sales and Sales Support/Administration business units by completing a structured rotation including but not limited to the following departments/functions:  Sales Support, Pricing, Margin, Inside Sales, Sales Operations, Field Sales.
  • Learn and demonstrate on the job competencies by completing the Sales Associate Onboarding program under the guidance of Grand & Toy’s Corporate Trainer.
  • Observes and/or participates in the sales process by traveling with Grand & Toy sales representatives and attending calls/meetings at various stages of the sales cycle.
  •  Practices sales process by calling on new and/or existing accounts; adhering to established sales steps and the G&T way of selling.
  • Establish personal learning objectives (ie: G&T Individual Development Plan (IDP)) to update personal knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in educational improvement opportunities; reading sales and marketing publications; maintaining personal networks among others (ie: course work,etc)

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • University degree or college diploma
  • Must be completely fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Bilingualism in English/French is an asset
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as the willingness and ability to effectively use all internal software programs as required for this position including Salesforce.com (CRM) tools is required
  • Ability to learn and utilize a complex pricing, order and sales tracking database tool (HFA/Clarity or the like)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Motivated to succeed
  • Understanding of basic business practices
  • High energy level & motivation for sales
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
